Windscreen replacement for yellow metal and plant equipment
Yellow metal is the South African term for construction and earthmoving plant — excavators, TLBs, loaders, graders and similar machines. When that glass fails, the machine usually cannot visit a passenger-car fitment centre. Mobile replacement is the practical route.
Why plant glass is a different job
The glass is often a specific pattern, not a Hilux screen. The machine may be on a site, in a yard, or 20 km from town. Standing time costs more than the glass. A photo, the make/model and the site location are how a useful quote starts.
What we need from you
- Make and model of the machine, and year if known
- A photo of the damaged screen, including the surrounding frame
- Where the unit is standing, including access notes
- Whether it is the front windscreen or another pane
Select “Yellow metal / plant” on the quote form so the request is not treated as a passenger car.
Cars and bakkies still matter
The same mobile team replaces glass on passenger cars, SUVs and bakkies. Yellow metal is an additional lane, not a replacement for everyday vehicles. Fleet and plant-hire operators can send more than one unit — list them in the notes.
Site conditions
The machine needs to be stationary, accessible and in a place where glass can be handled safely. Dust, slope and weather affect the visit. Those details should be in the notes so the appointment is planned, not guessed.
